ELAC is the English Learner Advisory Committee, and is a committee for parents or other community members who want to advocate for English Learners. For more information, please see the district's ELAC page on their website.
Why is ELAC so important?
The purpose of the ELAC is to advise the principal and school staff on programs and services for English Learners, and to advise the School Site Council in the course of the development of the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), sometimes called the Site Accountability Plan.
Why should I join ELAC?
If we don't hear from you, then we don't know what you want, or your students need! We need to hear from you!!!
When and where do we meet?
The ELAC meets on the third Monday of each month in Room 29 at Truckee Elementary from 5:30-7:00pm. Each meeting is preceded by a potluck dinner, beginning at 5:00pm, and childcare is always provided free of charge.
Truckee Elementary School (TES) has an ELAC, and the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District (TTUSD) has a DELAC--District English Learners Advisory Committee. Each school in TTUSD with an ELAC has a representative to the DELAC. For more information, please see the district's DELAC page on their website. If you would like to represent TES at DELAC, please come to our site ELAC, and let us know!
