Response to Intervention and Instruction
What is RtI?An academic intervention is any targeted assistance that a specific student receives for a specific need. Response to Instruction and Intervention (RtI2) is just that—a response by an educator to provide targeted assistance to a specific student.
RtI2 is a systemic approach to providing a framework to support students (and staff) that need academic and/or behavioral interventions. RtI2 uses many different programs and strategies, but is neither a program nor a strategy—it is a framework for support. What is the Process for RtI2?All decisions for an RtI2 program are based on data, and individual student need.

What does RtI2 Look Like?Typically, the RTI2 model is represented by a pyramid*
* Please Note: The tiers describe the intensity of instruction, not a specific program or staff member
In an RtI2 Model, Who is Targeted and How?* Please Note: Regardless of the tier that a student has been placed in, he/she MUST have access to 100% of Tier 1 instruction 100% of the time
